Every product recommendation on BioRestLab is scored against the same six criteria, with the same weights, every time. This page explains exactly how — including what we can and can’t assess, because a rating you can’t interrogate isn’t worth much.
The Six Criteria

| Brand trust & warranty | 5% | Warranty terms, trial periods, and the company’s track record on honouring them |
Each criterion is scored 1–10. The weighted total gives the BioRestLab Rating, also on a 1–10 scale.
How We Gather Evidence
We are transparent about our method because it determines how much weight our conclusions deserve. Our assessments are built from three sources, and every review states which ones were used:
- Published research — peer-reviewed studies on the product category, cited and linked directly in our articles so you can check them yourself.
- Verified-purchase review analysis — systematic reading of large volumes of verified owner reviews across retailers, looking for recurring, specific complaints and long-term durability signals rather than average star ratings, which are easily distorted.
- Manufacturer specifications and certifications — verified against the issuing body where the certification is publicly checkable.
What We Don’t Do
We do not currently conduct in-house physical testing of products. We do not claim to have slept on every mattress or sat in every chair we discuss, and we won’t pretend otherwise — sites that imply hands-on testing they haven’t done are exactly what makes product reviews hard to trust. Where a competitor’s hands-on testing is relevant and credible, we say so and point to it.
Affiliate Relationships Don’t Affect Scores
Products are scored before any commercial relationship is considered. Commission rates play no part in the six criteria, and we publish low scores and negative findings on products we could earn from. See our Affiliate Disclosure for the full detail.
Who Does the Rating
BioRestLab is founded and reviewed by an engineer with a master’s degree in biomedical technologies, applying the criteria-driven evaluation approach used in medical device assessment to consumer recovery, sleep, and posture products. Every review names its reviewer and its date of last update.
When Ratings Change
Ratings are revisited when a product is revised by the manufacturer, when new research changes what we know about the category, or when durability patterns emerge in owner reports over time. The last-updated date on each review tells you how current the assessment is.
Not Medical Advice
A high BioRestLab Rating means a product is well made and well matched to its stated purpose. It is not a clinical endorsement, and nothing on this site substitutes for advice from a physician or physical therapist — particularly if you are recovering from injury or surgery.
